Answered prayer!
Good news! We got TEFRA for Emma. I received her new medicaid number in the mail yesterday as well as a phone call from DHS. For those of you who didn't hear what TEFRA is, it is a program to get medicaid to disabled children whose parents wouldn't otherwise qualify. It goes back to mid-August and through her death, so it will cover pretty much everything. There may be a few odds and ends in there that won't be covered as I have found medicaid to be a little picky on having specialists come in and give their opinions, which Emma had a lot of. But it should definitely get the overwhelmingly large bills down into something definitely manageable. Thank you so much for praying for this, especially those of you who must have been praying that it would come through miraculously fast, as this is actually much sooner than they originally told us to expect it. I am busy this morning calling all the many clinics and hospitals that Emma visited and giving them the new number.
Yesterday went well, despite the fact that it marked a month from the passing of Emma. Thank you to those who remembered the significance of the day. I didn't think about it too much, but last night and this morning I did spend some time reliving that Wednesday night and morning. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and just couldn't understand why I hadn't done that February 22 instead, as it may have saved Emma's life. I know that God is in control, but it doesn't stop me from going through all the different scenarios. Anyway, thank you for your continued prayers. John and I are doing well, but I would be lying if I said it was not affecting us. We are both stressed and there is a lot of tension in much of what we do. Pray that we will always draw together and to the Lord for strength and never apart.
